Presentation of 2011 Schollarships, May 19, 2011...

The Wyandotte Lodge No. 3 schollarships presented to the most outstanding male and female student attending Piper High School was held at their Senior Breakfast on May 19th.  The scholarships are determined by a consensus of the faculty on the basis of academics, athletics and social acceptance.  The two winners for 2011 are Bryan Rezin and Rebecca Ferguson.

R:. Mark Davison, W:. Jim Briley and W:. Bob Babbitt along with R:. Marks wife, Linda, were there to make the presentation.  After meeting Bryan and Rebecca we all felt, as in the past, the faculty has again picked the very best for us to honor.

Our best wishes go to our two receiptants as they move to the next step in their education and beyond.

Installation of Officers, Saturday, December 3, 2010...

A delicious dinner was enjoyed by Brethren, their families and friends prior to the Installation Ceremony.  Job's Daughters of Bethel No. 2 opened the proceedings with their Bible Ceremony.  The Installation of officers for the year of 2011 was confered by R:.W:. Bob Schroeder, Installing Master, W:.B:. Jon Hefton, Marshall, and W:.B:. Jim Rumsey, Chaplain.

Worshipful Master, W:.B:. Warren Arnold made introductions, presentations and remarks concerning the upcoming year as he moved about the floor of the lodge.  The theme for the Installation was '1854 to 2011' so, W:.M:. Warren, Senior Warden Terry Miles, Junior Warden Mike Kupsch and their wives were dressed in clothes from the 1850's period.

The whole ceremony was very relaxed and everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon.  We wish nothing but the best for W:.M:. Warren Arnold and his officers during HIS year as Master.

Our 'thanks and best wishes' go to W:.B:. John Tritle for his very sucessful year as Master.

Grand Lodge, March 18 & 19, 2011...

Twenty one members of Wyandotte Lodge No. 3 journeyed to Salina, Kansas and attended the Grand Lodge of Kansas Annual Communication.  Thirteen wives accompanied them for a good representation of our lodge.

One of our Brothers, Br. Steve Barnhart, was presented the Grand Masters Award by M:.W:. L. Kent Needham in recognition of his heroic actions to save children during a house fire (go to the '...of Special Interest' page for the story).  He was the only Mason to receive this award during this session.

Trustee, W:.B:. Mark Davison became R:.W:. Mark Davison when he was installed as District Deputy Grand Master of the 2nd District for the year 2011-2012.

Our congratulations go out to both of these Brothers.

Annual Pancake Breakfast, June 19th...

Our annual Pancake Breakfast was held on Sunday, June 19th (Father's Day) and was enjoyed by everyone who attended.  Boys from the DeMolay distributed fliers to homes surrounding our lodge and we had several of our neighbors joining us for pancakes.  It was nice to meet people from the area and let them know what we are all about.  Thank you to Junior Warden Mike Kupsch, his wife Debbie and all that helped in the kitchen.  Without good help these events would never happen.

Grand Master's Visit and Awards Presentations...

Grand Master, M:.W:. Tracy L. Bloom made an official visit and presented 50, 60 and 65 year Membership Certificates and Lapel Emblems to four of our members on Friday, May 6th.  The lodge sent letters to twenty six of our members due to receive awards, but with many regrets due to health and the fact that half of our recipients live out of town we had four come for dinner and the presentation by Grand Master Tracy Bloom.  The recipients who were present were: 50 year members Br. Daniel Bluhm, Br. Charles Jeffery and Br. August Klasing; 60 year member W:. Clarence Priddy.

The dinner was delicious and the ceremony was serious yet lighthearted.  The recipiants related stories about their masonic experances over the past 50 and 60 years and many of these stories were very funny.  I'm sure they brought back memories to every Mason in the room, I know they did me.

It was an exceptional night with the dinning room full as was the lodge room.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the dinner and ceremony very much.

After the ceremony, lodge was opened to receive Grand Master, M:.W:. Tracy L. Bloom with full honors.  The meeting was short and closed in ample form by the Grand Master

Earlier in the week District Deputy Grand Master, R:. Mark Davison and members of the lodge visited R:. Charlie Gallipeau who is in Providence Place Nursing Home and presented him with a 65 year certificate.
